In the 1920s, New York was flooded with young women freed from their families, and female-dominated aparthotels were all the rage. Among them, the only one that really captured the imagination of the entire United States is the Barbizon Hotel. It was full of aspiring young actors, models, artists and writers who had their own rooms and were eager to make a name for themselves in New York.
Author Sylvia Plath spent a decade in Barbazon, Titanic survivor Molly Brown sang her last aria here, author Joan Didion began her writing here, and actress Grace Kelly danced here. "The Barbizon Hotel" records a group of women in an era, but also records a brilliant female development history. Historian Bren takes us back to 20th century New York to witness a fascinating piece of little-known history.

Paulina Bren
He is a famous American writer and historian. He graduated with a doctorate in modern European history from New York University. He has received financial support from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the East Asian and Eurasian Research Council of the United States, and the Social Science Research Council of the United States, and his works have won the European Research Council Best Book Award and the Austrian Research Association Best Book Award. Brune now teaches at Vassar College, focusing on women's studies and media studies.
