赫伯特•乔治•威尔斯（H.G.Wells），生于1866年，1946年逝世，英国著名小说家、历史学家和社会活动家，曾为费边社重要成员。威尔斯写作生涯长达六十多年，共创作一百余部小说，还有大量非虚构类作品、电影剧本和学术论文问世。代表作有《时间机器》《隐形人》《世界大战》等，同儒勒•凡尔纳和雨果•根斯巴克一起被称为“科幻小说之父”，曾四次获得诺贝尔文学奖提名，被誉为“科幻小说中的莎士比亚”。1920年发表的百万字巨著《世界史纲》，奠定了他作为历史学家的地位。从1930年代开始，他积极投身政治，先后与罗斯福和斯大林会晤，是活跃的社会改革家。
Herbert George Wells, one of the most original thinkers of the 20th century, wrote Open Conspiracy at the age of 62. A thoughtful reflection on the world crises of the 20th century, the book argues that, thanks to scientific progress, educated and influential people gradually shared a vision of a world of "political, social, and economic unity," which was considered the basis for a world revolution aimed at world peace. The establishment of the "world community" requires "open conspiracy", which is not only an organization, a worldwide movement, but also a life concept that all people who yearn for a new world should follow, and needs the participation and help of all parties.

About the author
H.g. Wells (born 1866 - died 1946) was an English novelist, historian and social activist who was a prominent member of the Fabian Society. Welles wrote more than 100 novels in a career spanning more than six decades, as well as numerous non-fiction works, film screenplays, and academic papers. He is known as the father of science fiction along with Jules Verne and Hugo Gernsback for his masterpieces such as "The Time Machine," "The Invisible Man," and "War of the Worlds." He was nominated for the Nobel Prize for Literature four times and is known as the Shakespeare of science fiction. He established himself as a historian with the publication in 1920 of his million-word book The Outline of World History. Beginning in the 1930s, he was active in politics, meeting with Roosevelt and Stalin, and was an active social reformer.
