《审物》内容简介

　　在全球交往体系下，从13世纪旅行家马可·波罗到17世纪传教士安文思，“物的描写”与“物的想象”已然成为他们建构良好“中国形象”的重要途径。然而到了1793年马戛尔尼使团来华后，良好的“中国形象”在欧洲人心目中轰然倒塌。本著以欧洲“文艺复兴”时期（14—16世纪）来华传教士马可·波罗撰写的《马可·波罗游记》（1299年）和门多萨撰写的《中华大帝国史》（1585年）以及“启蒙运动”时期（17—18世纪）利玛窦、曾德昭、安文思、杜赫德分别撰写的《基督教远征中国史》（1615年）、《中华帝国》（1642年）、《中国新志》（1688年）、《中华帝国全志》（1735年）为案例，较为详实地描述了欧洲近代两大思想解放运动时期来华传教士在欧洲中心主义立场下对中华工匠文化的另样回应，确证了中华诸物对欧洲文艺复兴和启蒙思想的深远影响，显示了中华诸物在欧洲世界崛起中的作用，并进一步阐释了全球文明交往中的工匠文明之独特价值。

Introduction to the content of "Examining Objects"

Under the global communication system, from the 13th century traveler Marco Polo to the 17th century missionary Anwen, "description of things" and "imagination of things" have become an important way for them to construct a good "Chinese image". However, after the Macartney mission came to China in 1793, the good "image of China" collapsed in the minds of Europeans. The book is based on the Travels of Marco Polo (1299), the History of the Great Kingdom of China (1585) by Marco Mendoza, and the Christian Expedition to China by Matteo Ricci, Tseng Dezhao, Avens and Duhead, respectively, during the period of the Enlightenment (17th-18th centuries) History (1615), Empire of China (1642), New Records of China (1688), and Complete Records of the Empire of China (1735), as examples, describe in more detail the different responses of missionaries to Chinese artisan culture under the position of Eurocentrism during the two major ideological liberation movements in modern Europe. It confirms the profound influence of Chinese objects on the European Renaissance and Enlightenment thought, shows the role of Chinese objects in the rise of the European world, and further explains the unique value of artisan civilization in global civilization exchanges.

Explore the image of China in the eyes of Europeans before the 18th century.

This book takes the works on Chinese objects written by Chinese missionaries during the "Renaissance" and "Enlightenment" periods as examples to explain in detail the extensive influence of Chinese objects written by Chinese objects on Europe, focusing on the response of missionaries and Europe to the Eurocentric position of Chinese objects. It confirms the fact that Chinese objects provided the basic material cognition and rational thought for the emergence of European Renaissance and Enlightenment thoughts, and further explains the text communication system and cultural transmission mechanism that influenced the global civilization communication.
