About the author

Dr. Lee Allen Dugatkin is an animal behaviorist, evolutionary biologist, and historian of science in the Department of Biology at the University of Louisville, where his primary research interest is the evolution of social behavior. Dr. Dugakin has published more than 125 articles on evolution and behavior in journals such as Nature, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and the Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. He is also the author or co-author of many books, including Principles of Animal Behavior, How to Tame a Fox (and a Dog), and Mr. Jefferson and the Big Elk.
