作者简介
[英]安德莉亚·斯图亚特(AndreaStuart)，1962年生于牙买加，先后就读于英国东盎格利亚大学与巴黎索邦大学，曾在中央圣马丁艺术学院和伦敦艺术大学担任客座讲师，现居伦敦。著有《女郎》（Showgirls,1996）、《马提尼克玫瑰：约瑟芬皇后传》（2003）与《染血的糖：一部关于奴隶制与帝国的家族史》（SugarintheBlood:AFamily’sStoryofSlaveryandEmpire,2012），其中《马提尼克玫瑰》获法英交流协会2013年度伊尼德·麦克劳德文学奖，《染血的糖》入围2013年博卡斯文学奖非虚构类与《波士顿环球报》2013年度图书。《泰晤士报》评价斯图亚特为“优秀的后殖民主义作家的典范”。

A brief introduction to the Rose of Martinique
The 2003 Enid MacLeod Literary Award for The New Statesman is a biography of Josephine, the first wife of Napoleon and the first Empress of the French First Empire. Josephine has always been covered by the halo of Napoleon I, but at that time, Napoleon was fascinated and even mad for her, she and Napoleon mutual achievements, her personal reputation is even better than the great emperor, she used wisdom and charm in the turbulent era to open up their own way. Andrea Stuart recreates the various stages of Josephine's life, such as the special temperament given to her childhood in Martinique, the changes made to her by her first marriage, the rich social life and remarkable social talent, her emotions and status changes during the revolutionary era, as well as her love affair with the Emperor and the many important roles she played in the Empire. It shows the social landscape of the French colonies, the social life of the Parisian upper class, the political turmoil and personal ups and downs during the Revolution. This is not only a biography of the Empress, but also a social history of France and Europe in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
About the author
AndreaStuart (Andrea Astuart), born in Jamaica in 1962, has studied at the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom and the Sorbonne University in Paris, has been a visiting lecturer at Central Saint Martins School of Art and the University of the Arts London, and now lives in London. She is the author of "Showgirls" (1996), "The Rose of Martinique: A Biography of Queen Josephine" (2003) and "Sugar Stained with Blood" (2003). A family history of slavery and the empire "(SugarintheBlood: AFamily 'sStoryofSlaveryandEmpire, 2012), the method of" Martinique roses "won the exchange association 2013 annual Enid macleod prize for literature, "Sugar With Blood" was shortlisted for the 2013 Baucus Prize for Nonfiction and the Boston Globe's 2013 Book of the Year. The Times described Stuart as "a fine example of a postcolonial writer".
