　　第二部分谈“亚洲的复兴”。21世纪，亚洲将重返世界舞台的中心。事实上，欧洲和北美只是在过去的200年里才实现了经济腾飞。西方在过去两个世纪的主导是一个重大的历史反常现象，而现在，历史正在回归正轨。

　　第三部分谈“中国的和平崛起”。作者充分展示了对中国和平崛起道路的认同，具体探讨了世界秩序的重构与变化，中国如何在后疫情时代和平发展、开展国际合作等。

　　第四部分谈“全球化、多边主义与全球合作”。当前人类面临着许多亟待解决的问题，从新冠肺炎疫情到气候变化，皆须通过全球合作予以应对。作者认为：我们需要一种能够促进全球合作的多边世界秩序，多边外交应充分发挥其“人类议会”的功能。

　　［新加坡］马凯硕（Kishore Mahbubani）

　　资深学者型外交家，新加坡驻联合国前大使，新加坡国立大学亚洲研究所卓越院士。

　　他有两段出色的职业经历：33年的外交生涯和15年的学术经历。作为新加坡驻联合国大使，他在纽约生活了10多年。作为学者，他是新加坡国立大学李光耀公共政策学院的创始院长。

　　2019年，他当选美国艺术与科学学院院士。他是全球知名的公共政策学者和亚洲研究专家，代表作《中国的选择》《新亚洲半球》《东盟奇迹》《西方失败了吗？》等。

Content introduction

In recent years, with the gradual decline of the West and the rapid rise of Asia, there is a great shift of power in the world, and the rise of the east and the fall of the west have become the general trend. This book is a study of this international trend.

The author stands outside China and the United States, observes the international pattern from the perspective of a third party, analyzes the causes behind it in combination with current events, and discusses the rise of Asian countries, including China, in order to help readers better understand the global development trend in the 21st century. The book is a collection of Mahbubani's major articles, lectures and interviews in recent years.

The first part talks about "the end of the era of Western domination of the world". The main strategic mistake the West is making today is to refuse to face up to and accept this reality, raising the question of how the west can learn to make the right strategic moves in a world it no longer rules.

The second part talks about "Asia's revival". In the 21st century, Asia will return to the center of the world stage. In fact, Europe and North America have only taken off economically in the past 200 years. The dominance of the West over the past two centuries was a major historical anomaly, and now history is returning to normal.

The third part talks about "China's peaceful rise". The author fully demonstrates the recognition of China's peaceful rise, specifically discusses the reconstruction and changes of the world order, and how China can develop peacefully and carry out international cooperation in the post-epidemic era.

The fourth part discusses "globalization, multilateralism and global cooperation". Today, mankind faces many urgent problems, from the novel coronavirus outbreak to climate change, which must be addressed through global cooperation. The author believes that we need a multilateral world order that can promote global cooperation, and multilateral diplomacy should give full play to its "human parliament" function.

About the author

[Singapore] Kishore Mahbubani

Veteran academic diplomat, former Ambassador of Singapore to the United Nations and Distinguished Fellow of the Institute of Asian Studies, National University of Singapore.

He has two distinguished careers: 33 years in the diplomatic service and 15 years in the academic service. As Singapore's ambassador to the United Nations, he lived in New York for more than 10 years. As an academic, he was the founding dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore.

In 2019, he was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is a world-renowned public policy scholar and Asian studies expert, whose books include China's Choice, The New Asian Hemisphere, The Asean Miracle, and Has the West Failed? Let's wait.
