作者简介
妮可·克劳斯（NicoleKrauss）
1974年出生于美国纽约，先后毕业于斯坦福大学、牛津大学。她的作品已被译成30多种语言，代表作《大宅》入围美国国家图书奖决选名单。
生活中，妮可·克劳斯是两个男孩的母亲，两个儿子先后进入青春期让她开始思考男子气概对于男孩来说意味着什么。书中同名篇目《成为男人》正是对这个问题的探讨与回答。

"Becoming a Man" content introduction
In 10 stories, as fathers, lovers or former lovers, the protagonists talk about what it means to be a man and try to answer the chains and constraints that gender identity brings to men and women.
"To be a man" : In his country, to be a man, one must first be a soldier, but no one cares how far a boy must go to become a man.
"Juthia on the Roof" : After "dying" once, he was shunned by his family because of the birth of his grandson, and he was moved to become a newborn without the shackled by traditional concepts.
"I Sleep But My Heart is Awake" : Daughter inherits her late father's apartment, but also accidentally "inherits a strange man in her father's apartment." She looks at the strange apartment and realizes that she never really knew her father.

NicoleKrauss
Born in New York in 1974, he graduated from Stanford University and Oxford University. Her work has been translated into more than 30 languages, and her masterpiece, The Mansion, was a National Book Award finalist.
In her own life, Nicole Kraus is the mother of two young boys, and the onset of puberty made her think about what masculinity means to boys. The title of the book "Becoming a Man" is to explore and answer this question.
In this collection of short stories, Nicole Kraus explores the boundaries between tenderness and violence, capturing the fleeting loss of a male or female relationship, and writing about the eternal loneliness that stretches to the end of time.
