作者简介
高罗佩（Robert Hans van Gulik，1910—1967），字笑忘，号芝台、吟月庵主，荷兰外交官，著名汉学家，同时也是收藏家、翻译家、民俗学家、动物学家、推理小说作家。先后在荷兰驻日本、中国、印度、马来西亚等国的使馆工作，精通英、法、德、汉、日、藏、梵等15种语言，出版论著、小说、译作及史料凡16种，是中西文化交流史上的传奇人物。

This book is divided into four parts from Yin Zhou to the end of Ming Dynasty. It discusses the sexual life of ancient Chinese people and related things from the perspective of social history and cultural history, and analyzes the formation and evolution of ancient Chinese concept of human nature. It not only involves clothing, jewelry, women's foot binding, secretaries in the room and other directly related to sex, but also involves a broader social background such as politics, economy, religion, culture and art. This is the first monograph on the history of Chinese sexology with broad vision, systematic interpretation and fair discussion, and is still one of the most important references in this field.
About the author
Robert Hans van Gulik (1910-1967), alias Xiaoyu, alias Zhitai, Master of Yin Yue, Dutch diplomat, famous Sinologist, collector, translator, folklorist, zoologist, mystery novel writer. He has worked in the Dutch embassies in Japan, China, India, Malaysia and other countries. He is proficient in 15 languages including English, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Tibetan and Vatican, and has published 16 books, novels, translations and historical materials. He is a legendary figure in the history of Sino-Western cultural exchanges.

Wu Yuetan, born in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, is a researcher at the Institute of Foreign Languages of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, a distinguished professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Foreign Languages of Xiangtan University. He served as the President of the French Literature Research Association of China from 2002 to 2016, and was awarded the title of "Senior Translator" by the Translators Association of China in 2023.
