阿列克谢·萨利尼科夫，1978年出生于1978年出生于塔尔图（爱沙尼亚），作家、机械师、水管工，记者和翻译，以诗人的身份首次亮相文坛，作品散见于《巴比伦》年鉴、《空气》《乌拉尔》《伏尔加》等大型文学期刊。出版诗集数部，并有《部》《间接》等多部长篇小说。2018年，出版小说《彼得罗夫流感》引发轰动。曾获“文学X光”诗歌奖（2005）、国家畅销书大奖（2018），并获“大书奖”“新文学奖（鼻子奖）”提名。作家现居乌拉尔的叶卡捷琳堡。

In post-Soviet Yekaterinburg, a terrible flu is hitting the Petrov family. The family members' hidden secrets gradually come to light. Petrov is a 28-year-old car mechanic and an underdog amateur cartoonist. When he came down with the flu, he walked dangerously between delirium and madness under the influence of alcohol and aspirin, as if in Mayakovsky's "Urban Hell." Meanwhile, his ex-wife, Petrova, is trying to contain the killing that has been building up inside her.

In the fevered brains of the Petrovs, fragments of the Brezhnev era were interwoven with Western popular culture, ideology and commercials coexisted, and Dostoyevsky met pop bands. People living in "second-hand time" are searching in vain for moral strength. They use fantasy to resist the powerless reality, leaving love in the depths of memory.

The metaphor of the flu is to portray the dilapidated conditions of post-Soviet society, especially the old industrial areas of the Rust Belt, as an inevitable epidemic, and to allude to the loss and anxiety that pervasion ordinary Russians through an influenza pandemic. People are torn by feelings of helplessness, repressed dreams.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, generations of faith came to naught, and in a painful social transition, ordinary people were trapped in the dilemma of value and identity, everyone paid the price for the broken dream, and everyone was searching for the meaning of life again. And Petrov is just such a person living in the "second-hand time", he uses fictional stories to tell the real life.

Absurd brushstrokes, suspenseful Settings, and pleasurable narrative rhythms make the reading experience like a drug. The nested narrative, like the movie Inception, implies the "multiple personalities" of the male protagonist. Critics say the narrative rhythm of the novel shakes up perceptual systems developed over years of reading "normal" works. A combination of magical realism, stream of consciousness, poetry and other genres, the language is amazing and unique, and the novel structure is sophisticated and complex, composed of several narrative levels and multi-line advance, so that the reader is gradually in-depth in the atmosphere of suspense and confusion.

Alexei Salikov (born 1978 in Tartu (Estonia)) is a writer, mechanic, plumber, journalist and translator who made his literary debut as a poet in major literary journals such as Babylonian Yearbook, Air, Urals and Volga. He has published a number of poetry collections, and a number of novels such as "Bu" and "Indirect". In 2018, the publication of the novel "Petrov Flu" caused a sensation. He has won the "Literary X-ray" Poetry Award (2005), the National Bestseller Award (2018), and was nominated for the "Big Book Award" and the "New Literature Award (Nose Prize)". The writer lives in Yekaterinburg in the Urals.
