Content introduction
Equations are the fundamental laws of the world and have changed the fate of mankind. From the wave equations and Maxwell's equations to the Black-Scholes equations used to predict financial markets, equations are everywhere in life. How did the Pythagorean theorem lead to the Global Positioning System? How can logarithms be used in architecture? Why are imaginary numbers important to the development of digital cameras? What happened to Schrodinger's cat? ...
This book selects 17 equations that have an important impact on human society, tells the historical story behind them with vivid and interesting writing, and how they have promoted the development of human civilization, and makes an original exploration and interpretation of everything on Earth from the perspective of mathematics.
