克里斯蒂安·里特（Christiane Ritter）
奥地利艺术家、作家，一八九七年出生。一九三四年，里特与丈夫赫尔曼、探险家卡尔一起，在挪威位于北极圈内的斯瓦尔巴群岛，进行了为期一年的极地探险之旅。回到奥地利后，里特根据其经历写就《一个女人，在北极》。其德文版出版于一九三八年，而后有英、法等多语种版本。后定居维也纳，于二〇〇〇年去世。

In 1934, Austrian artist and writer Christian Ritter set off for Norway's Svalbard archipelago in the Arctic Circle for a year of polar life with her husband Hermann and explorer Karl. Nearly a hundred years ago, the polar regions were almost isolated, and the most important thing every day was to think about how to survive.
In order to drink water, they must go out to look for snow, in order to feed themselves, they risk their lives, and the polar bear battle of wits and courage... With keen insight, Ritter recorded this period of life in the polar region. Before embarking on this journey, she had no idea what life had in store for her, but after enduring storms, intimate encounters with animals, and endless nights, she began to think about what the Arctic meant to her and what life really was. What does the North Pole mean to her, to us?

Christiane Ritter
Austrian artist and writer, born 1897. In 1934, Ritter, along with her husband Hermann and explorer Carl, undertook a year-long polar expedition to Svalbard, Norway, located in the Arctic Circle. After returning to Austria, Ritter wrote a book based on her experiences, A Woman at the North Pole. It was published in German in 1938 and later in English, French and other languages. He settled in Vienna and died in 2000.
