　　[英]乔纳森·萨姆欣(JonathanSumption)，曾在牛津大学莫德林学院（MagdalenCollege）任教，其巨著百年战争系列，时至今日已有《战争的试炼》《烈火的审判》《分裂的王朝》《被诅咒的国王》四部作品问世，分别出版于1990年、1999年、2009年和2015年。他的作品还包括《朝圣者》（1975年）、《阿尔比十字军》（1978年）、《爱德华三世》（2016年）、《国家的审判》（2019年）和《危机时期的法律》（2021年）等。2009年，他的《分裂的王朝》荣获沃尔夫森历史奖。乔纳森·萨姆欣先后毕业于伊顿公学与牛津大学，在离开牛津大学莫德林学院后，他投身法律事业，于1970年代加入伦敦内殿律师学院；1986年，38岁的他受命成为女王御用大律师；1990年代初，又升任高等法院大法官法庭助理法官。2012年，萨姆欣被擢升为最高法院大法官，与11名同僚一起运作整个联合王国的法律体系。

A brief introduction to the Hundred Years War (Volume 2)

In the Middle Ages of Europe, the Hundred Years' War between Britain and France is an intense, long and bizarre history. Britain and France shaped their national and national identities during this long war. Professor Jonathan Samshin's five-volume tome on the Hundred Years' War between Britain and France has published its first four volumes in more than two decades and is currently working on a fifth. This second volume focuses on the Hundred Years' War from 1347 to 1369. About the author

JonathanSumption, who taught at MagdalenCollege, Oxford, is the author of the Hundred Years' War series, which has so far published four works: The Trial of War, The Trial of Fire, The Divided Dynasty and the Cursed King. It was published in 1990, 1999, 2009 and 2015. His other books include The Pilgrim (1975), The Albi Crusade (1978), Edward III (2016), The Judgment of Nations (2019), and The Law in Times of Crisis (2021). In 2009, he won the Wolfson Prize for History for his book Divided Dynasties. Jonathan Samshin was educated at Eton College and Oxford University. After leaving Magdalen College, Oxford, he pursued a career in law and joined the Inner Temple in London in the 1970s. In 1986, aged 38, he was appointed Queen's Counsel; In the early 1990s, he was promoted to Associate Judge of the Chancery Division of the High Court. In 2012, he was promoted to the Supreme Court, where he runs the entire United Kingdom legal system with 11 colleagues.
