　　戚其章(1925―2012)，生前任山东社科院历史研究所研究员、甲午战争研究中心主任、山东省历史学会名誉会长。他毕生致力于甲午战争史和中国近代史研究，著述颇丰，一生所著和编撰学术著作近30部，在海内外学术刊物上发表论文200余篇，尤其是在甲午战争研究领域享誉海内外。主要著作有《中日甲午威海之战》《北洋舰队》《中日甲午战争史论丛》《甲午战争与近代社会》《甲午战争史》《甲午战争国际关系史》《中国近代社会思潮史》《晚清海军兴衰史》《国际法视角下的甲午战争》等，主编《中日战争》(中国近代史资料丛刊续编)12册、《晚清教案纪事》《甲午战争与近代中国和世界》等。

About the author

Qi Qizhang (1925-2012) was a researcher at the Institute of History of Shandong Academy of Social Sciences, director of the Sino-Japanese War Research Center, and honorary president of Shandong Historical Society. He devoted his life to the study of the history of the Sino-Japanese War and the modern history of China. He wrote and edited nearly 30 academic works and published more than 200 papers in academic journals at home and abroad, especially in the field of Sino-Japanese War research. His major works include the Sino-Japanese Battle of Jiao-Wei Hai, the Beiyang Fleet, The History of the Sino-Japanese First Sino-Japanese War, the Sino-Japanese First Sino-Japanese War and Modern Society, the History of the First Sino-Japanese War, the History of the International Relations of the First Sino-Japanese War, the History of Modern Chinese Social Trends, the Rise and Fall of the Navy in the Late Qing Dynasty, the First Sino-Japanese War from the perspective of International Law, etc. He edited 12 volumes of "Sino-Japanese War" (continuation of the Modern Chinese History Data Series), "Annals of the Late Qing Dynasty Teaching Plans", "The Sino-Japanese War and Modern China and the World" and so on.
