《为动物的正义》【内容简介】

　　全世界的动物都处于困境中。人类支配着我们这个世界的每个地方，从陆地、海洋到天空。任何非人动物都无法逃脱人类的支配。很多时候，这种支配都对动物造成不正当的伤害，无论通过工厂化肉食工业的野蛮虐待，通过偷猎和娱乐性狩猎，通过破坏栖息地，通过污染空气和海洋，还是通过对人们声称喜爱的伴侣动物的忽视。

　　玛莎·C.努斯鲍姆（MarthaC.Nussbaum，1947—），美国当代政治学家、道德哲学家，美国艺术与科学学院院士，芝加哥大学法学与伦理学恩斯特·弗罗因德杰出贡献教授。

　　作为美国当代最杰出、最活跃的知识分子之一，她的思想在世界范围内都颇具影响力。曾被美国《外交政策》双月刊与英国《展望》杂志列入“世界百名杰出知识分子”榜单。2003年获评英国《新政治家》杂志“我们时代的十二位伟大思想家”之一。2012年获西班牙阿斯图里亚斯王子奖·社会科学奖。2016年获京都奖·艺术与哲学奖，这个奖项尤其肯定“她发展了一套提倡可行性能力进路的新的正义理论”。2018年获博古睿哲学与文化奖。2021年获霍尔贝格奖。

"Justice for Animals" 【 Content Introduction 】

Animals all over the world are in trouble. Humans dominate every part of our world, from land to sea to sky. No non-human animal can escape human domination. All too often, this dominance causes unjustified harm to animals, whether through brutal abuse by the factory meat industry, through poaching and recreational hunting, through habitat destruction, through pollution of the air and oceans, or through the neglect of companion animals that people claim to love.

Humanity as a whole has a collective responsibility to confront and solve these problems. Each of the animals is striving for a flourishing life, and each has the social and individual capabilities that enable them to live appropriately in a world that presents difficult challenges for animals.

One of the central ideas of this book is the contrast between a flourishing life and a hindered life. The author will establish a new theoretical basis for thinking about justice and injustice towards animals, based on the ability of animals to live according to their own typical forms of life.

This book is a work of love, or what might be called a constructive mourning. For the loved one, for her loved one, for all sentient animals, that is, animals that have a subjective view of the world and can feel pain and pleasure. The author hopes that readers will be moved in their own different ways, so as to make a choice for justice and become lovers of animal life.

About the author

MarthaC.Nussbaum (1947 -) is a contemporary American political scientist, moral philosopher, fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and Ernst Freund Distinguished Professor of Law and Ethics at the University of Chicago.

As one of the most outstanding and active intellectuals in contemporary America, her thoughts are very influential in the world. He was included in the "World's 100 Outstanding Intellectuals" list by the bimonthly Foreign Policy magazine and the Prospect Magazine of the United Kingdom. In 2003, he was named one of the "Twelve Great Thinkers of our time" by the New Statesman magazine. He was awarded the Prince of Asturias Prize for Social Sciences in 2012. In 2016, she received the Kyoto Prize for Art and Philosophy, which specifically recognized "her development of a new theory of justice that promotes a feasible approach to competence." 2018 Bogurry Philosophy and Culture Award. Awarded the Holberg Prize in 2021.
