The witch hunt gave us some frightening images of witches: they practiced magic, they were stubborn, they were old and ugly... Yet this sweeping ideological poem is rife with misogynistic rhymes, and the rest of it still permeates the world's judgment of women today. Mona Sholay removes the pretence and presents the true "witches" : they live independently, they age naturally, and they are in control of their bodies and sexuality.
Here we look at three different types of women's lives:
Independence from others -- autonomy does not mean the absence of relationships, but that relationships can be built, but those relationships must respect our integrity, our free will, and allow us to fully blossom, rather than bind ourselves;
Not limited to motherhood - to change one's own destiny, or just to make life promising, one must first make having children a thing that one does what one wants to do, and one does not want to do;
Not afraid of aging - women do not have to keep their young appearance, they have every right to use another look, another beauty to enrich themselves.
The "witch" is the only female archetype who holds a certain ability through herself, and she is not defined by others, so, the heirs of the "witch", please inherit this power and bloom for yourself!
