《史通》是一部系统性的史学理论专著，为唐代刘知几所撰。全书现存49篇，分为内篇、外篇两个部分。内篇为其主体，着重讲史书的体裁体例、史料采集、表述要点和作史原则，而以评论史书体裁为主；外篇论述史官制度、史籍源流并杂评史家得失。《史通》论述了唐以前的史籍源流以及前人修史之得失，其中一些史观，时至今日也具有借鉴意义。

The inner part is its main body, focusing on the genre of historical books, collecting historical materials, expressing the key points and making history principles, and mainly commenting on the genre of historical books; The outer part discusses the system of historiographers, the origin and flow of historical records and evaluates the gains and losses of historians. Shi Tong discusses the origin of historical records before the Tang Dynasty and the gains and losses of predecessors in history, some of which are of reference significance even today.
