作者简介
吕思勉（1884—1957）字诚之，生于江苏常州。12岁以后在父母师友的指导下开始阅读史书，16岁便自学古史典籍，1905年起，先后在苏州东吴大学、江苏省立师范学校等校任教。
吕思勉先生是我国现代知名的史学家，知识渊博，学术造诣深厚。在通史、断代史和专门史领域都做出了巨大的贡献，为后世的历史研习留下了宝贵的财富。与陈垣、陈寅恪、钱穆并称为“史学四大家”。先生一生著作宏富，潜心治学不求闻达，史德与史识兼备。

About the author
Lu Simian (1884-1957) was born in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. At the age of 12, he began to read history books under the guidance of his parents, teachers and friends. At the age of 16, he began to learn ancient history books by himself. From 1905, he taught in Soochow University in Suzhou and Jiangsu Normal School successively.
Mr. Lv Simian is a famous historian in modern China with profound knowledge and profound academic attainments. He has made great contributions in the fields of general history, dynastic history and special history, leaving precious wealth for the later generations of historical study. Together with Chen Yuan, Chen Yinke and Qian Mu, it is called the "four masters of historiography".
