本书以《大唐西域记》《大唐大慈恩寺三藏法师传》等古籍资料为依托,通过实地对玄奘西行沿途的塔尔寺遗址、榆林窟、莫贺延碛、高昌故城、苏巴什佛寺遗址、克孜尔石窟、碎叶城遗址、怛罗斯城、巴米扬大佛、那烂陀寺遗址、阿旃陀石窟等地的考察,以当代考察与历史史料相结合的形式触摸古遗迹,图文并茂地展现了沿途的人文历史,并为相关研究提供了直观、生动的独特视角。

作者简介
张安福:山东临沭人,上海师范大学历史系教授,博士生导师,上海师范大学丝绸之路研究中心主任,国家社科重大项目“环塔里木历史文化资源调查与研究”首席专家,教育部新世纪优秀人才。
主要从事西域史、丝绸之路文化史研究。代表作品有国家社科文库《环塔里木历史文化资源调查与研究》《西域屯垦经济与新疆发展研究》,社会兼职有中国中外关系史学会理事、副秘书长,中国唐史学会理事。
党琳:上海师范大学人文与传播学院研究生,研究方向为汉唐西域史。
Content introduction
Xuanzang, the prototype of the Tang monk in Journey to the West, was a model for later monks to travel thousands of miles to India to seek Dharma.
This book is based on the Records of the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty, The Biography of the Sanzang Master of the Great Ci 'en Temple of the Tang Dynasty and other ancient books, and through the field investigation of the ruins of Tar Temple, Yulin Grottoes, Mohe Yan Moran, Gaochang Ancient City, Subashi Buddhist Temple, Kizir Grottoes, the ruins of the Shredded Leaf City, Talas City, Bamiyan Buddha, the ruins of Nalanda Temple, and Ajanta Grottoes along the way of Xuanzang's westward journey. The ancient ruins are touched in the form of contemporary investigation and historical materials, and the human history along the way is illustrated with pictures, and provides a unique visual and vivid perspective for related research.

About the author
Zhang Anfu: Born in Linshu, Shandong Province, professor of History Department of Shanghai Normal University, doctoral supervisor, director of Silk Road Research Center of Shanghai Normal University, chief expert of national social science major project "Survey and Research on historical and cultural resources around Tarim", and outstanding talents of the Ministry of Education in the new century.
He is mainly engaged in the history of the Western regions and the cultural history of the Silk Road. His representative works include National Social Science Library "Survey and Research on Historical and Cultural Resources around Tarim", "Research on Settlement Economy and Development of Xinjiang in the Western Regions", and he is a director and deputy secretary general of the Chinese Society of History of Foreign Relations, and a director of the Chinese Society of Tang Dynasty History.
Dang Lin: Graduate student, School of Humanities and Communication, Shanghai Normal University. Her research direction is the history of the Western regions of Han and Tang Dynasties.
