【 Content Introduction 】
What is the new lower layer?
Japan's new underclass is a class that has long struggled to escape poverty.
When the sense of crisis that the old have no place to rely on shifts to the young and middle-aged in advance,
When social mobility decreases and poverty becomes more inherited,
When the rich and poor are on opposite sides of the issue of whether the poor deserve relief,
How can the new underclass, facing these realities, save themselves?
The increase of non-regular workers in Japanese society has created a large number of poor people, leading to a rise in the poverty rate. In this book, Hashimoto divides these people into different groups, such as young, middle-aged and old people, describing the birth, development and influence of the new lower class, as well as the reality of the widening of social inequality and the decline of class in Japan. Based on survey data, this paper explores the mobility of social classes in Japan and the reasons behind it.
