资本主义为何在马克思《资本论》发表一百多年后仍然幸存而没有灭亡，这是20世纪马克思主义研究最重要的问题之一。在这样的理论与现实背景下，本书沿着马克思的生产关系再生产的理论路径，试图构建出完整的生产关系再生产理论和资本积累理论，以弥补《资本论》的不足。正是围绕着生产关系的再生产过程，一组维持资本主义存活的起因与理由产生了。
本书汇集了列斐伏尔几项重要研究，对资本主义问题、当前资本主义的社会关系等问题提出了一些短期的实际解决方案，并进行了长远的意识形态反思。在某种意义上，本书可以被看成作者于一年后（1974年）出版的深具影响力的代表作《空间的生产》的一个宣言，列斐伏尔在书中所提出的问题亦能在其随后发表的巨著《论国家》中被找到。

亨利•列斐伏尔（Henri Lefebvre，1901—1991），法国当代深具影响力的马克思主义思想家，以其开创性的日常生活批判、对城市权利和社会空间生产等概念的引介、对辩证唯物主义和异化等主题的研究及对存在主义和结构主义的批评而著称于世，代表作包括《日常生活批判》《空间的生产》等。

- Brief introduction -
Why capitalism has survived more than a hundred years after the publication of Marx's Capital is one of the most important questions in twentieth-century Marxist studies. Under such theoretical and practical background, this book attempts to construct a complete theory of reproduction of production relations and capital accumulation along the theoretical path of Marx's production relations, in order to make up for the shortcomings of Capital. It is around the process of reproduction of the relations of production that a set of causes and reasons for the survival of capitalism arises.
This book brings together several of Lefebvre's important studies, proposing some short-term practical solutions to the problems of capitalism and the social relations of current capitalism, as well as long-term ideological reflections. In a sense, the book can be seen as a manifesto for the author's influential magnum opus The Production of Space, published a year later (1974), and the questions raised by Lefebvre can also be found in his subsequent magnum opus, On the State.

Henri Lefebvre (1901-1991), an influential contemporary French Marxist thinker, He is known for his pioneering critique of everyday life, his introduction of concepts such as urban rights and the production of social space, his research on topics such as dialectical materialism and alienation, and his criticism of existentialism and structuralism, including The Critique of Everyday Life and the Production of Space.

He holds a double master's degree in European Politics and International Relations from Sciences Po University of Paris and a Bachelor's degree in philosophy from Fudan University. He has studied European intellectual history and political culture, and has translated books such as "Intellectual History of the French Revolution", "Medusa's Laughter" and "Occupy". He lives in Paris.
