About the author
Stephen King was born in 1947 in Portland, Maine, and studied English literature at Maine State University. In 1973, she published her first novel, The Witch Carrie, which was immediately a great success. So far, he has published more than 60 novels and more than 200 short stories, including "The Shawshank Redemption", "It", "Rebirth", "Vigil" and "Tomorrow After", and is praised by Time magazine as "the undisputed master of thriller fiction". Dozens of films have been based on or adapted from his novels. He received the Outstanding Contribution Award from the National Book Award in 2003, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the World Fantasy Literature Award in 2004, and the Master Award from the Mystery Writers of America's Edgar Allan POE Award in 2007.
