R.H.托尼（R.H.Tawney，1880—1962）
英国著名的经济学家、历史学家、社会批评家、教育家。曾先后任教于格拉斯哥大学、牛津大学，并担任伦敦大学经济史教授。其代表作有《16世纪的士地问题》（The Agrarian Problem in the Sixteenth Century,1912）、《贪婪的社会》（The Acquisitive Society,1920）、《宗教与资本主义的兴起》（Religion and The Rise of Capitalism,1926）、《中国的土地与劳工》（Land and Labour In China,1932）等。
除此之外，托尼也是一名积极的社会-政治活动家和改革家，他服务于不少公共教育团体并长期担任英国政府的经济顾问。五十多年持续的社会实践及其思想和人格，为他赢得了极大的声望和尊敬。

R.H. Tonney (1880-1962)
He is a famous British economist, historian, social critic and educator. He taught at the Universities of Glasgow and Oxford and was Professor of Economic History at the University of London. His works include The Agrarian Problem in the Sixteenth Century (1912) and The Acquisitive Society (1912) Society (1920), Religion and The Rise of Capitalism (1926), and Land and Labour In China (1932).
Tony is also an active socio-political activist and reformer, serving on a number of public education groups and as an economic adviser to the British government. Fifty years of continuous social practice and his ideas and personality have earned him great prestige and respect.
