Content introduction
This book is the philosophical foundation work of Rancier, the most influential philosopher in contemporary France, the main points of which run through all his subsequent studies. The book is written like a story about the extraordinary experience of a French teacher named Jacoteau. Based on a traditional novel textbook, Jacoteau created his method of teaching illiterate people how to read, starting with the first sentence of the book. The key is that teachers themselves do not teach specific knowledge, encourage students to use their own cognitive ability, teachers only "verify" whether students learn. Therefore, this method can even be given to poor fathers, so that they can teach their children to read and write, and liberate the intelligence. This not only promoted an effective method of social reform, but also put forward a philosophy of equality.
