Naoshima is an art mecca jointly created by world-class artists such as Tadao Ando, Yayoi Kusama, Hiroshi Sugimoto and CAI Guoqiang, and a literary island visited by millions of tourists such as Kenya Hara, Wu Qingfeng, Kanye Lunmei and Kanye West.
The head of the Naoshima project writes for the first time, telling an unknown past from the perspective of an eyewitness: a decaying industrial town, the mutual benefits and contradictions between commerce and art... Naoshima, before it was "Naoshima."
"I'm a 35-year-old who started my first career. 'I got a job and I'm going to Naoshima.' When I said that, everyone around me was shocked."
