　　这本音乐随笔集，首先以“声音与时代”开篇，算是这本小书的“纲目”。一时代有一时代之乐，有识之士往往能在音符与歌词之间窥见时代的脉动。

　　第二辑里，我们只是给出了音乐与人的浮光掠影。相信在这万千世界之中，音乐与人的故事应该是随时随地在发生。但是，我们却可以在这雪泥鸿爪之中见到音乐给我们的人生带来的种种安慰。

　　第三辑中的文章，除了古琴之外，零散点缀了四篇文学家——汪曾祺、刘心武、贾平凹、王安忆的音乐心得。这一辑的选文，编者希望能够尽量多地涵括西方音乐巨擘的名单。这些名字，国人已经不再陌生，他们的音乐作品常常在不知不觉中渗透进了我们的生活。

　　第四辑，编者希望能够尽量多地涵括西方音乐巨擘的名单，也选了一篇关于女性音乐家的文章。音乐是无国界的，同样也应该不分性别。希望喜欢音乐的人应该有更广阔的胸襟去理解接受更多元的文化。

　　音乐固然有其专业性，但是对于普罗大众来说，它所承载的“文化”与“生活”才是更能打动人心的东西。在这本散文集中，出现了形色各样的人，他们有的是作曲家，有的是演奏者，有的只是聆听者。但是，他们都在音乐中交付了自己某一部分的生命，而正因那一部分生命的参与，那时的音乐才更加动听。

　　陈平原，北京大学中文系博士，现任北京大学博雅讲席教授（2008—2012年任北大中文系主任）、北京大学现代中国人文研究所所长、教育部“长江学者”特聘教授、中央文史研究馆馆员。主要研究领域有20世纪中国文学、现代中国教育及学术、中国小说史、中国散文史等。先后出版《中国小说叙事模式的转变》《千古文人侠客梦》《中国现代学术之建立：以章太炎、胡适之为中心》《触摸历史与进入五四》《作为学科的文学史》《左图右史与西学东渐：晚清画报研究》《大学何为》《现代中国的述学文体》等著作三十余种。



　　李静，北京大学文学博士，现任教于北京航空航天大学人文与社会科学高等研究院，副教授。主要从事诗乐文化与现代中国、中国近代文学、明清小说史、乐教与社会治理方向的研究。著有《我教孩子学国学》《天命之外的困惑——〈封神演义〉的伦理困境及解决》《乐歌中国——近代音乐文化与社会转型》。

Introduction of works

This collection of music essays begins with "Sound and Times", which is the "framework" of this small book. An era has an era of music, people of insight can often glimpse the pulse of The Times between the notes and lyrics.

In volume two, we just gave a glimpse of the music and the people. I believe that in this world, the story of music and people should be happening anytime and anywhere. However, we can see the various comforts that music brings to our life in this snow and mud.

In addition to Guqin, the articles in the third collection are scattered with the music experiences of four writers -- Wang Zengqi, Liu Xinwu, Jia Pingwa and Wang Anyi. For this collection, the editors wanted to include as many of the biggest names in Western music as possible. These names are no longer unfamiliar to Chinese people, and their musical works often infiltrate our lives unconsciously.

For the fourth volume, the editors wanted to include as many of the biggest names in Western music as possible, and also chose an article about female musicians. Music knows no borders, and it should know no gender. People who want to like music should have a broader mind to understand and accept more diverse cultures.

Of course, music has its professionalism, but for the general public, the "culture" and "life" it carries are more impressive things. In this collection of essays, there are people of all shapes and sizes, composers, performers, and just listeners. But they all gave some part of their lives to the music, and because that part of their life was involved, the music was more beautiful.

Chen Pingyuan, Ph.D., Department of Chinese Literature, Peking University, currently Chair Professor of Liberal Arts at Peking University (2008-2012 Director of the Department of Chinese Literature, Peking University), director of the Institute of Modern Chinese Humanities at Peking University, Special Professor of "Changjiang Scholar" of the Ministry of Education, and member of the Central Institute of Literature and History. His research interests include 20th century Chinese literature, modern Chinese education and scholarship, history of Chinese fiction, and history of Chinese prose. He has published more than 30 books, such as The Transformation of the Narrative Mode of Chinese Novels, The Dream of the literati through the Ages, The Establishment of modern Chinese Scholarship: Centered on Zhang Taiyan and Hu Shizhi, Touching History and entering the May Fourth Movement, the History of Literature as a Discipline, the History of the Left and the Right and the Eastern Spread of Western Learning: A Study of Pictorial Newspapers in the Late Qing Dynasty, What Is University, and the Style of Describing Learning in Modern China.

Li Jing, Ph.D., Peking University, is currently an associate professor at the Institute for Advanced Humanities and Social Sciences, Beihang University. He is mainly engaged in the research of poetry and music culture and modern China, modern Chinese literature, the history of Ming and Qing novels, music education and social governance. He is the author of "I teach children to learn Chinese Studies", "The Confusion beyond the Mandate of Heaven - The ethical Dilemma and Solution of the Divine Romance", and "Music China - Modern Music Culture and Social Transformation".
