本书为李泽厚四部伦理学论著之合集，系统地阐述其“伦理学新说”：一是伦理（外在规范）与道德（内在心理）作二分，并“由外而内”讲道德的起源；二是道德内作意志、观念、情感三分，调和康德与休谟，认为理性为主，辅以情感；三是道德外作传统宗教性（私德）与现代社会性（公德）二分，主张以“情本体”的中国哲学来解决当代既人欲横流又理性跋扈的问题。但所有这些都只是概括性的哲学提出，具体探讨仍留待有关学科。
李泽厚，1930年6月出生，湖南长沙人。中国当代著名思想家，在哲学、思想史、美学、伦理学等多个领域均有重大建树，其思想系统为“人类学历史本体论”。
1954年毕业于北京大学。中国社会科学院哲学所研究员。1988年当选为巴黎国际哲学院院士。1992年客居美国，先后任美国、德国等多所大学的客席讲座教授。1998年获美国科罗拉多学院人文学荣誉博士学位。2010年入选世界权威的《诺顿理论和批评选集》。

Introduction of works
This book is a collection of Li Zehou's four works on ethics, which systematically expounds his "new theory of ethics" : first, ethics (external norm) and morality (internal psychology) are divided, and the origin of morality is explained "from the outside in"; Second, morality is divided into three parts: will, idea and emotion, reconciling Kant and Hume, thinking that reason is the main part, supplemented by emotion; Third, morality is divided between traditional religion (private morality) and modern sociality (public morality), and advocates the Chinese philosophy of "sentience noumenon" to solve the contemporary problem of both human desire and reason overbearing. But all these are only general philosophical proposals, and specific discussions are still left to the relevant disciplines.
Li Zehou was born in Changsha, Hunan Province in June 1930. He is a famous contemporary Chinese thinker who has made great achievements in many fields such as philosophy, ideological history, aesthetics, ethics, etc. His ideological system is "anthropological historical ontology".
He graduated from Peking University in 1954. Researcher, Institute of Philosophy, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He was elected a member of the International Academy of Philosophy in Paris in 1988. In 1992, he moved to the United States as a guest professor at several universities in the United States and Germany. In 1998, he received an honorary doctorate in humanities from Colorado College. In 2010, he was selected into the world-renowned NORTON Anthology of Theory and Criticism.
