In this groundbreaking work, Martha Nussbaum combines feminism, philosophy, law, sociology, etc., to deeply analyze the psychological causes and social roots of men objectifying and dominating others. In the context of American judicial history, she also exposes three areas of privilege where accountability for sexual assault is flawed, three "bastions of arrogance" : the judiciary, the arts, and sports. These areas of hubris, toxic masculinity and corruption are where the law should be most relevant. Nussbaum not only railed against male privilege, but also warned against the vindictive mentality of victims. Martha Nussbaum

American philosopher who taught at Harvard and Brown universities and is now professor of Law and Ethics at the University of Chicago. He was named one of the "World's top 100 Thinkers" by Foreign Policy Magazine and Outlook. She holds 64 honorary degrees from dozens of internationally renowned universities and has received more than 20 honorary awards around the world, including the Kyoto Philosophy Prize in Japan, the Inamori Prize for Ethics, the Bogurui Prize, the Prince of Asturias Prize for Social Sciences, and the Balzan Prize. His books include The Fragility of Good, The Frontiers of Justice and the Healing of Desire.
