Is Anxiety because I think too much

Dark, negative thoughts and feelings are just as much a part of our lives as pleasant, positive ones. They do not accumulate in our minds and do not necessarily lead to anxiety. What can cause anxiety disorders is the way we deal with these thoughts and feelings.

However, studies have shown that after 6 to 12 metacognitive therapies, a person will change the habit of letting thoughts and feelings take over and continuously analyzing them. In therapy, we can learn to observe our thoughts and feelings, allow them to pass and stay, but not deal with them or explore why they arise, and the symptoms of anxiety disappear completely or at least to some extent.

In this book, author Dr. Pia Callesen explains her new understanding of anxiety and walks you through this new treatment step by step. At the end of each chapter, you will see the stories of people with anxiety disorders and their experiences with metacognitive therapy. All had suffered from long-term or short-term anxiety, and all had successfully broken their habit of ruminating for long periods of time.

A woman in her 20s, whose mother has died, and who's worried about losing her son

A man in his 40s who had suffered from major depression and was increasingly anxious as a result of a series of life events

A woman in her twenties who grew up worried, very sensitive, anxious about everything that might happen

A man in his thirties, trying to make everything perfect, stressed out at work, and increasingly insecure

A woman in her twenties who has always felt that she is not good enough, not smart enough, and often has suicidal thoughts

This book offers practical advice, case studies, and exercise tips from psychologists to revise your strategies for dealing with anxiety and learn new ways to get rid of it once and for all.
