　　浪漫主义文学、文艺批评以及美学一直以来备受关注，然而同时期的形而上学、认识论以及伦理学等哲学问题却常遭忽视。然而，前者只有通过后者才能得到更好的理解。

　　因此，针对主流学界将浪漫主义运动看作一场文艺学意义上的美学运动，拜泽尔强调浪漫主义运动中伦理学和政治学的优先性和主导性地位。另一方面，针对流行的后现代解释方法，拜泽尔采用的是传统的解释学和历史学的方法——这是浪漫派本身所实践和捍卫的方法。借此，拜泽尔将试图从浪漫派内部，依据其自身的理念、目的及其历史文本来对之做出解释。

　　拜泽尔（生于1949年11月27日）是当今英语世界研究18、19世纪初德意志唯心论和浪漫主义的权威学者，雪城大学（SyracuseUniversity）荣休教授。他曾凭借《理性的命运：从康德至费希特的德意志哲学》（TheFateofReason:GermanPhilosophyfromKanttoFichte，HarvardUniversityPress，1987）赢得了当年的ThomasJ.Wilson最佳图书奖。在随后的十多年间，通过一系列著作全面梳理了德国理性主义传统（目前国内已译介《狄奥提玛的孩子们：从莱布尼茨到莱辛的德国审美理性主义》《黑格尔》，2019）。在此期间，他分别在剑桥大学出版社出版了自己编译的《剑桥黑格尔指南》（TheCambridgeCompaniontoHegel，CambridgeUniversityPress，1993）与《德意志浪漫派早期政治著作选》（TheEarlyPoliticalWritingsoftheGermanRomantics，CambridgeUniversityPress，1996）。这一系列的研究导向了他关于德意志早期浪漫派的系统性梳理著作《浪漫的律令：早期德意志浪漫主义观念》（TheRomanticImperative:TheConceptofEarlyGermanRomanticism），最终让他在2015年获得了德意志联邦共和国十字勋章（OrderofMeritoftheFederalRepublicofGermany）。

A brief introduction to the Romance Law

Romantic literature, literary criticism and aesthetics have always attracted much attention, while metaphysics, epistemology and ethics have often been neglected. However, the former can only be better understood through the latter.

Therefore, in response to the mainstream academic view of the Romantic movement as an aesthetic movement in the sense of literature and art, Beiser emphasized the priority and dominant position of ethics and politics in the Romantic movement. On the other hand, in response to popular postmodern methods of interpretation, Beiser adopts traditional hermeneutic and historical methods - methods that the Romantics themselves practice and defend. In this way, Beiser will attempt to explain Romanticism from within, in terms of its own ideas, aims and historical texts.

This book is an updated edition of the Romantic Law (2019), with the addition of a recent paper by Beiser, which is Beiser's response to the debate surrounding German Romanticism and a summary of Beiser's views on the subject. In addition, the translator revised the whole book.

About the author

Beiser (born November 27, 1949) is a leading scholar on 18th and early 19th century German idealism and Romanticism in the English-speaking world and is professor emeritus at SyracuseUniversity. He is the author of Rational Fate: From Kant and fichte's philosophy of deutsche (TheFateofReason: GermanPhilosophyfromKanttoFichte HarvardUniversityPress, 1987) won the ThomasJ. Wilson best book award. In the following decade, a series of works comprehensively combed the German rationalist tradition (The Children of Diotima: German Aesthetic Rationalism from Leibniz to Lessing, Hegel, 2019). During this period, he compiled respectively in Cambridge university press of the Cambridge Hegel guide (TheCambridgeCompaniontoHegel CambridgeUniversityPress, 1993) and the German romantic early political writings (TheEarlyPoliticalWritingsoftheGermanRomantics CambridgeUniversityPress, 1996). This series of studies led to his systematic review of early German Romanticism, The Law of Romance: Early German romantic ideas (TheRomanticImperative: TheConceptofEarlyGermanRomanticism), Finally let him in 2015 won the cross with the federal republic of Germany (OrderofMeritoftheFederalRepublicofGermany).
