金·斯坦利·罗宾逊于1952年出生于美国伊利诺伊州，后与父母迁至橙郡度过童年时代。他主攻语言及文学，于1975年获得波士顿大学英语文学硕士学位，又于1982年获得加州大学圣迭戈分校英文博士学位。

Kim Stanley Robinson was born in 1952 in Illinois and spent her childhood with her parents in Orange County. He received a Master's degree in English literature from Boston University in 1975 and a doctorate in English from the University of California, San Diego in 1982.
Robinson, who began writing in the 1970s, has published 18 novels and countless short stories, and has been described by The New York Times as "one of the greatest science fiction writers of all time." His works have always been distinguished by their exquisite prose and rich detail. Thanks to his profound literary foundation and rich knowledge reserve, his characters are lifelike, no matter what kind of scenes, things, customs, he seems to have experienced the general, the writing is very real, accurate, breathtaking.
