《离岛》内容简介

　　“当生活在城市里的人们想要逃跑的时候，他们总是去离岛喘一口气。”

　　离岛，指远离本土的、隔绝于世的岛屿。日本不止是东京、京都、大阪、北海道……日本有400多个有人的离岛。每200个日本人之中，就有一个生活在离岛。

　　作家库索历时三年，独自走访了日本最为偏僻的数个小岛，切入岛国鲜为人知的边缘地带。五岛、佐渡、隐岐……离岛满足人们与世隔绝的浪漫想象：丰裕的自然，亲密无间的邻里关系，得以完好保留的古典之美，悠闲缓慢，自给自足。

　　但意外地，她又看到很多崭新的气象：为日本人定制旅行的年轻美国亚裔，拜师学艺、移住小岛四十余年的加拿大老先生，从零开始种植葡萄的法国金牌酿酒师夫妇，毕业于东京名校、拒绝高薪offer的80后爸爸，带领非遗传统艺术重获新生的庶民表演者……在刚刚过去的、充满“错位感”与不可思议的三年里，他们活出了我们不敢过的人生。

　　离岛不只是日本的缩影，也是世界的缩影。近代东亚社会共通的矛盾点，在这里一触即发。闭塞与贫穷是否真的无解？跟随库索，打破城市生活的边界，看普通人如何从孤岛上汲取生命的另一种可能，又将这种力量反哺土地。

　　库索，生于山，长于海。1985年生于中国贵州，2015年移居日本京都。武汉大学新闻系毕业，曾任《新周刊》主笔，豆瓣年度好书作者。

A brief introduction to the Outlying Island

"When people living in the city want to escape, they always go to the outlying islands to catch their breath."

Outlying island refers to an island far away from the mainland and isolated from the world. Japan is more than Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hokkaido... There are more than 400 inhabited islands in Japan. One in every 200 Japanese lives on an outlying island.

Author Kuso spent three years on a solo tour of some of Japan's most remote islands, cutting into the island's little-known fringes. Gojima, Sado, Oki... The outlying islands satisfy the romantic imagination of isolation: abundant nature, intimate neighbourhoods, well-preserved classical beauty, leisure and self-sufficiency.

In Kousso's perspective and pen, there are multiple values and possibilities in the outlying islands, but they also face a severe reality: there are no supermarkets, convenience stores, hospitals or any recreational facilities, and the phenomenon of fewer children and aging is unprecedented. Poor transportation, lack of resources, gender discrimination, traditional culture and art are not sustainable... Indigenous people who farm and fish are struggling to make ends meet and flee.

But unexpectedly, she saw a lot of new weather: young American Asians who customized trips for the Japanese, a Canadian old gentleman who learned from a teacher and moved to the island for more than 40 years, a French gold winemaker couple who began planting grapes from scratch, a father who graduated from a prestigious school in Tokyo and refused a high salary offer after 80, and a common performer who led the traditional art of intangible cultural heritage to a new life... In the past three years, full of "dislocation" and incredible, they have lived a life we did not dare to live.

The outlying islands are not only a microcosm of Japan, but also a microcosm of the world. The contradictions common to modern East Asian society are at the verge of eruption here. Is there really no solution between isolation and poverty? Follow Quso and break the boundaries of urban life to see how ordinary people draw another possibility of life from the isolated island and feed this power back into the land.

About the author

Kuso, born in the mountains, grew in the sea. Born in Guizhou, China in 1985, he moved to Kyoto, Japan in 2015. Graduated from Wuhan University, majoring in journalism, he was the chief writer of New Weekly and the author of Douban's annual good Book.
