本书从王铎的书法研究入手，探讨晚明时期中国书法之演变。王铎意欲借复古而创新，调和王羲之的侧棱用笔和精细细节，与张旭的中锋行笔和雄阔气势。全书由七篇长文组成，在整个晚明文化的时代背景中，讨论了王铎书法线条的形态、来源，以及他与同时代书法家的对比。同时，作者还对张芝、王羲之、王献之，以及张旭、怀素、颜真卿、米芾、黄庭坚、董其昌等中国历史上众多书法大家的风格特点，进行了详细的解析，并汇集了大量藏于海内外难得一见的书画珍品。
作者简介
张以国，1983年南开大学哲学系本科毕业，2001年获得哥伦比亚大学艺术史与考古系博士学位。先后任美国大都会艺术博物馆、波士顿艺术博物馆研究员等，现为南开大学王己千艺术中心主任。张以国在中国书画鉴定、艺术史研究、博物馆学方面，有着丰富的经验和积累，从事王铎书画研究近四十年，为艺术品的收藏保护和国宝回归作出过杰出贡献，多部著作被哈佛大学、芝加哥大学等高校图书馆收录。
Content introduction
This book begins with the study of Wang Duo's calligraphy and discusses the evolution of Chinese calligraphy in the late Ming Dynasty. Wang Duo intended to be innovative through retro, reconciling Wang Xizhi's side strokes and fine details with Zhang Xu's center strokes and grandeur. The book consists of seven long essays, which discuss the form and origin of Wang Duo's calligraphic lines and the comparison between him and his contemporaries in the context of the whole late Ming culture. At the same time, the author also makes a detailed analysis of the style characteristics of many calligraphy masters in Chinese history, such as Zhang Zhi, Wang Xizhi, Wang Xianzhi, Zhang Xu, Huai Su, Yan Zhenqing, Mi Fu, Huang Tingjian and Dong Qichang, and collects a large number of rare calligraphy and painting treasures stored in the sea and beyond.
About the author
Zhang Yiguo received his bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Nankai University in 1983 and his doctorate degree in Art history and Archaeology from Columbia University in 2001. He has been a researcher at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Boston Museum of Art, and is now the director of the Wang Qiqian Art Center of Nankai University. Zhang Yiguo has rich experience and accumulation in the identification, art history research and museology of Chinese calligraphy and painting. He has been engaged in the research of Wang Tuo's calligraphy and painting for nearly 40 years, and has made outstanding contributions to the collection and protection of artworks and the return of national treasures. Many of his works have been collected by Harvard University, University of Chicago and other university libraries.
