Content introduction
If the Milky Way could talk, what would it tell us about its life? The author uses the way of autobiography to let the Milky Way as "the Milky Way itself", telling its own past and present life. The first and second chapters tell the basic situation of the Milky Way and the mythological stories of different countries and regions about the Milky Way and the night sky; Chapters 3 through 10 cover the Big Bang, galactic inflation, the Z black hole at the center of the Milky Way, and the discovery and scientific hypotheses of the Milky Way and other neighboring galaxies. In chapters 11 through 14, the perspective of the book shifts from the interior of the Milky Way to the wider universe, describing the physical interactions of neighboring galaxies such as Andromeda and the Milky Way over tens of thousands of years, the demise of the Milky Way, and the scientific predictions made by the contemporary astrophysics community about the evolution of the Milky Way. Chapter 15 explores issues such as dark matter and extraterrestrial life, and evokes readers' broader curiosity about the universe through the lens of the Milky Way.
