本书探讨契丹王朝（907～1125）独具特色的政治军事制度。作者对斡鲁朵及其州县的管治、中央政权机构的特征及功能、五京建置、禁卫军制度，以及“糺军”等史界争议的问题，做出了全新的诠释，从而为深入观察及认识由游牧民族契丹人建立的辽政权的统治体系提供了历史的新视角及研究的新途径。本书的附录，在补充考证契丹官名“详稳”、辽代科举、五京留守及辽帝游幸五京情况之外，还探讨了汉语“儿”音在辽金元时期的嬗变，从语言学的角度管窥了契丹统治时期北方地区多民族语言接触给汉语语音带来的演变，进而为《辽史》部分史料的来源提供了新的论据。
作者简介
杨若薇，北京大学历史学博士，英国莱斯特大学应用语言学博士。早年师从邓广铭教授，学习与研究辽金史。获博士学位后，任教于北京大学历史系中古史研究中心。20世纪90年代获美国温纳格伦人类学基金会资助，赴华盛顿大学学习研究文化人类学；继而于北美、英国、香港的大学从事应用语言学、历史语言学及语言教学等领域的研究。先后任教于香港教育学院（现香港教育大学）、香港理工大学、香港公开大学等。现为香港树仁大学中国语言文学系教授，博士生导师。
Content introduction
This book explores the unique political and military system of the Khitan Dynasty (907 ~ 1125). The author has made a new interpretation of the governance of Orudo and its prefectures and counties, the characteristics and functions of the central government, the construction of the five capital, the praetorian guard system, and the "d « army" and other controversial issues in the historical field, thus providing a new historical perspective and a new research for the in-depth observation and understanding of the ruling system of the Liao regime established by the nomadic Khtan The appendix of this book, in addition to the supplementary research on the Khitan official name "Xiang Wen", the imperial examinations of the Liao Dynasty, the staying in the five capitals and the Liao Emperor's travel to the five capitals, also discusses the evolution of the Chinese "er" sound in the Liao, Jin and Yuan dynasties, and explores the evolution of Chinese pronunciation brought by the contact of multi-ethnic languages in the northern regions during the Khitan rule from the perspective of linguistics. Then it provides a new argument for the source of some historical materials in Liao History.
About the author
Yang Ruowei holds a PhD in history from Peking University and a PhD in applied Linguistics from the University of Leicester. In his early years, he studied and studied the history of Liao and Jin dynasties under the guidance of Professor Deng Guangming. After receiving his doctorate, he taught at the Center for the Study of Ancient History in the History Department of Peking University. In the 1990s, he was funded by the Wennergren Anthropology Foundation and went to the University of Washington to study cultural anthropology. He then studied applied linguistics, historical linguistics and language teaching at universities in North America, the United Kingdom and Hong Kong. He has taught at the Hong Kong Institute of Education (now the Education University of Hong Kong), the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Open University of Hong Kong. He is currently a professor of Chinese Language and Literature at Hong Kong Shue Yan University.
