《人地之间》是一本全面讲述中国过去四十年经济增长模式及未来发展问题解决策略的普及性著作。
在考察我国现有经济增长、工业化及城市化模式的历史背景、演变过程及其理论逻辑的基础上，《人地之间》分析了过去的经济增长模式对国民经济、社会发展和城乡土地利用的多方面影响，并最终给出合理、可行的城乡土地改革方向及具体的政策组合。
在城乡土地改革的每个细分领域，作者所提供的解决方案都是在既有政策框架基础上以逐步缓解现有矛盾为目标的适度调整。既不是推倒重来，也不是无关痛痒的修补，而是希望通过一系列“激励相容”的联动改革逐步推进。
作者简介
陶然，现任香港中文大学（深圳）人文社科学院教授。2002年获芝加哥大学经济学博士；2003-2007年，在牛津大学中国研究中心做博士后研究。
他的研究专注于中国经济转型与发展的多个相关领域，包括转型与增长的政治经济学逻辑、城市化进程中的土地和户籍改革、官员社会政治网络与地方发展、地方治理及公共财政等。主持过两项国家自然科学基金重点项目，目前正在主持一项国家社科基金重大项目。
2020年和2021年，陶然教授连续入选全球性信息分析公司爱思唯尔（Elsevier）发布的中国高引用学者（Chinese Highly Cited Researchers）“理论经济学”领域类榜单，并在中央与地方政府户籍、土地、住房改革等领域发挥了重要的政策影响。
Content introduction
Between Man and Land is a comprehensive account of China's economic growth model over the past four decades and its strategies for solving future development problems.
On the basis of examining the historical background, evolution process and theoretical logic of China's existing economic growth, industrialization and urbanization models, "Between Man and Land" analyzes the various impacts of the past economic growth models on the national economy, social development and urban and rural land use, and finally gives a reasonable and feasible direction of urban and rural land reform and specific policy combinations.
In each subdivision of urban and rural land reform, the solutions provided by the authors are moderate adjustments based on the existing policy framework to gradually ease the existing contradictions. It is neither a toppling over, nor an innocuous repair, but hopes to gradually advance through a series of "incentive compatible" linkage reforms.
About the author
Ran Tao is a professor at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). He received his PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago in 2002. From 2003 to 2007, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre for Chinese Studies, University of Oxford.
His research focuses on a number of areas related to China's economic transition and development, including the political and economic logic of transition and growth, land and household registration reform in the process of urbanization, official socio-political networks and local development, local governance, and public finance. He has hosted two key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation and is currently hosting a major project of the National Social Science Foundation.
In 2020 and 2021, Professor Tao Ran was selected as one of the Chinese Highly Cited Researchers in the field of "Theoretical Economics" published by Elsevier, a global information analysis company. And has played an important policy influence in the areas of household registration, land, and housing reform of central and local governments.
