This book is divided into two parts: the first part and the second part. The contents are the research of emotion concept in 18th century and the interpretation of novel text in 18th century respectively. The book redefines the fundamental characteristics of the Age of Enlightenment, moving from the "age of reason" to the "age of emotion"; From the perspective of the depiction of emotion and heart and the formation of private society, this paper makes a new interpretation of the rise of realistic novels in the 18th century. The history of emotional concepts in the first part constructs a solid context for the interpretation of literary works in the second part, and makes the work reflect both theoretical depth and professional insight in literary interpretation. It is a work of humanistic thought with academic rationality, depth and readability.
