[美]恩斯特·迈尔（Ernst Mayr）
20世纪著/名进化生物学家、分类学家、鸟类学家、科学史学家、生物哲学家和热带探险家。他的研究工作促进了概念革命——带来了现代综合进化论，推动了生物物种概念的发展。
生前曾担任哈佛大学比较动物学博物馆馆长，退休后曾担任哈佛大学动物学名誉教授，并在各类期刊上发表了200多篇文章。他在职业生涯中总计出版了25本书，其中有14本实在65岁之后出版的。
曾荣获伦敦林奈学会达尔文-华莱士奖章，美国国家科学院奖章、克拉福德奖、美国哲学学会本杰明·富兰克林杰出科学成就奖等多个重量级奖项，也曾当选为英国皇jia学会外国会员。

About the author
Ernst Mayr
20th century author/Evolutionary biologist, taxonomist, ornithologist, historian of science, biological philosopher and tropical explorer. His work contributed to the conceptual revolution that led to modern integrative evolution and the development of the concept of biological species.
He was director of the Museum of Comparative Zoology at Harvard University, and emeritus professor of Zoology at Harvard University, where he published more than 200 articles in various journals. He published 25 books during his career, 14 of which were published after the age of 65.
He has won the Darwin-Wallace Medal of the Linnean Society of London, the Medal of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States, the Crawford Award, the Benjamin Franklin Award for Outstanding Scientific Achievement of the American Philosophical Society and many other heavyweight awards, and has also been elected a foreign member of the Royal jia Society of Britain.
