《燕东园左邻右舍》是北京大学新闻与传播学院教授徐泓的非虚构力作，让挂上“历史建筑”标志牌的燕东园22栋小楼开口说话，讲述1926—1966年小楼里的住户与往事。作者以特稿的笔法、详尽的史料搜集，以及对数十位燕东园二代的访谈实录，抢救对现场的记忆，抢救被淹没的历史——缅怀与致敬那一代学人：他们出生于清末民国初年，留学于海外，在国难时毅然归来，以科学文化报效祖国，历经各种磨难，始终一片冰心在玉壶。作者徐泓的父亲徐献瑜曾任燕京大学数学系主任，她出生于燕京大学燕南园59号，从1946年深秋在她出生一百天时搬家至燕东园40号，至今一直住在燕东园，是这个园子里仅此一家的老住户。她深入每个家庭，记录了感人至深的夫妻情、父子情、父女情，还有邻里之间的同事情、师生情，重现了那个时代学人的精神世界以及书斋里的日常生活。
作者简介
徐泓
现任北京大学新闻与传播学院教授，1998年前从事新闻工作，高级记者，曾任中国新闻社新闻部副主任，北京分社社长。1998年以后，先后任教于中国人民大学新闻学院和北京大学新闻与传播学院。已出版专著《大人物小人物》《我所珍惜的：30位北大传媒人访谈录》《不要因为走得太远而忘记为什么出发》等。

"Yandong Garden" is a non-fiction work by Xu Hong, a professor at the School of Journalism and Communication of Peking University. It allows the 22 small buildings of Yandong Garden with the "historical building" sign to speak, telling the residents and the past in the small buildings from 1926 to 1966. The author uses the writing method of special articles, detailed historical data collection, and the interview record of dozens of Yandong Yuan second generation to rescue the memory of the scene and rescue the submerged history - memory and tribute to that generation of scholars: they were born in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, studied overseas, resolutely returned when the national disaster, and served the motherland with science and culture, after various hardships, always a piece of ice heart in Jade. Xu Hong's father, Xu Xianyu, was the head of the Department of Mathematics at Yenching University. She was born in Yenching University at No. 59 Yenan Yuan. She moved to No. 40 Yandong Yuan when she was 100 days old in the late autumn of 1946 and has been living there ever since. She went deep into each family, recorded the touching love between husband and wife, father and son, father and daughter, as well as the same things between neighbors, teachers and students, and reproduced the spiritual world of scholars at that time and the daily life in the study.
About the author
Xu Hong
He is now a professor at the School of Journalism and Communication of Peking University. He worked as a senior journalist before 1998. He was deputy director of the News Department of China News Service and chief of its Beijing bureau. Since 1998, he has taught at the School of Journalism, Renmin University of China and the School of Journalism and Communication, Peking University. He has published monographs such as "Big and Little People", "What I Cherish: Interviews with 30 Peking University Media People", "Don't forget why you set out because you have gone too far" and so on.
