作者简介
黄克武，1957年生，牛津大学东方系硕士，斯坦福大学历史学博士，现为台湾“中研院”近代史研究所特聘研究员，研究方向为中国近代社会文化史。著有《一个被放弃的选择：梁启超调适思想研究》《笔醒山河：中国近代启蒙人严复》等。

This book is an academic work to study the relationship between Liang Qichao and modern Chinese and Western thought and culture, comprehensively combs the evolution process and research approach of his academic thought in his life, and shows his rich and profound academic exploration and spiritual world.
Taking Liang Qichao as the research object, the author makes an in-depth analysis of his academic research in Yangming studies, Mozi studies, Western philosophy, Chinese history and other aspects, and focuses on the influence of his academic research on the transformation of modern China, aiming to present the complex process of Chinese academic transformation in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China with the modern interpretation of Liang Qichao's traditional academic thought. In addition, the author also explains how Liang Qichao analyzes various issues with new concepts and new methods, explores the uniqueness of China with the method of comparison between China and the West, establishes a new academic model, and finally comes down to the realistic concern of "new people", "new country" and "casting the soul of the nation".
About the author
Huang Kewu, born in 1957, holds a master's degree in Oriental Studies from Oxford University and a doctorate in history from Stanford University. He is currently a distinguished research fellow at the Institute of Modern History, Academia Sinica, Taiwan. His research direction is the history of modern Chinese society and culture. He is the author of "An Abandoned Choice: A Study on Liang Qichao's Adjustment Thought" and "Pen Awakening Mountains and Rivers: Yan Fu, an Enlightened Man in Modern China".
