大坊胜次
1947年出生于岩手县盛冈市。1972年进入“大路咖啡店”工作,积累了开咖啡店的基础知识后,1975年7月,在东京都港区南青山的一所大楼二层创立了“大坊咖啡店”。以手摇烘豆器进行自家烘焙,自开业以来,秉持着全年不休店的原则,向全世界的咖啡爱好者们提供法兰绒手冲的深烘咖啡。2013年12月,“大坊咖啡店”关闭。如今,致力于在日本全国各地讲授手摇烘焙和咖啡萃取方法,交由后辈们传承。

In 2013, in a sigh of coffee lovers, the "Big Square Coffee shop", which had not been open for 38 years, was closed because the building was old. To this day, the sound of nostalgia can still be heard, adding to the legend of this coffee shop. Since opening, the owner, Mr. Taifang Katsuji, has insisted on hand-roasting coffee beans, constantly testing and adjusting the flavor, using flannel filter cloth and drip method to extract coffee, equal hospitality... It has become a free space for Japanese cultural celebrities such as Seiji Ozawa, Kuniko Mukita, and Haruki Murakami to linger and relax as well as paint workers who pass by the shop.
Five years after closing the shop, Mr. Katsuji Daifang is full of gratitude and nostalgia for the guests, reflecting on his time in the coffee shop, with 11 comprehensive and philosophical essays on coffee, art and life, to preserve the spirit of Daifang Coffee Shop, and to make a formal farewell.
About the author
Tai Fang Sheng Ji
Born in 1947 in Morioka, Iwate Prefecture. In 1972, he started working at "Daji Cafe" and accumulated the basic knowledge of running a coffee shop. In July 1975, he founded "Daji Cafe" on the second floor of a building in Minami-Aoyama, Minami-ku, Tokyo. Homemade roasters with hand roasters, since opening, adhering to the principle of year-round stores, to provide flannel hand brewed dark roasted coffee to coffee lovers around the world. In December 2013, the Cafe was closed. Today, he is dedicated to teaching hand roasting and coffee extraction methods throughout Japan, passing them on to future generations.
