罗伯特·瓦尔泽（Robert Walser，1878—1956）
瑞士现代作家、诗人。
十四岁，家人送他去银行做学徒。
十七岁，抛弃银行正职，逐梦演艺界，惨败。
放弃舞台后，他做过各种工作，包括助理、办公室文员。
1905年，随哥哥到柏林，一边就读于仆人学校，一边写作。
他说，只要稍微攒点钱就辞职，为了能够不受干扰地创作。
1913年，离开柏林，回到瑞士，成了“一个被奚落和不成功的作者”。
他酗酒、失眠、幻听、做噩梦、焦虑不安。
1929年，躲进精神病院，此后余生，不问世事。
1956年圣诞节，死于散步途中的雪地里。
如今，瓦尔泽已是与穆齐尔、卡夫卡齐名的现代德语文学大师。

Robert Walser (1878-1956)
Swiss modern writer and poet.
At the age of 14, his family sent him to the bank as an apprentice.
17 years old, abandoned the bank day job, pursue the dream show business, failed miserably.
After giving up the stage, he held various jobs, including assistant and office clerk.
In 1905, he followed his brother to Berlin, where he studied at the servant School and wrote.
He said he would quit if he saved a little money so he could create without distractions.
In 1913, he left Berlin and returned to Switzerland, where he became "a ridiculed and unsuccessful author".
He suffered from alcoholism, insomnia, auditory hallucinations, nightmares and anxiety.
In 1929, he hid in a mental hospital, and spent the rest of his life in seclusion.
Died on Christmas Day 1956, walking in the snow.
Today, Walser is a master of modern German literature as famous as Muzil and Kafka.
