JoseEduardo Agualusa (born 1960 in Angola, studied agriculture and forestry in Portugal) is an author, journalist and author whose works have been translated into more than 30 languages.

In recent years, Agualusa has made a name for himself in the English-speaking world as a representative writer of contemporary Angola and the Portuguese-speaking world as a whole. In 2007, he won the Independent's Foreign Fiction Prize for "The Man Who Trafficked in the Past", the first African writer to win the prize. The General Theory of Forgetting was shortlisted for the 2016 Man Booker International Prize and won the 2017 International Dublin Literary Prize.

Yuge Zhu, a researcher and translator of Portuguese literature, is a graduate student in Portuguese and Romance Studies at the University of Lisbon, Portugal. His current research interests are Portuguese modern and contemporary literature. He has translated the novels of Machado de Assis, Diary of China: The Real China in the eyes of a Brazilian, etc.
