The court struggles run through the whole political history of Chinese monarchs, no matter the Qin, Han, Sui, Tang, Ming and Qing Dynasties in the unified period, The Three Kingdoms, Sixteen States, Northern and Southern Dynasties, Ten States in the divided period, all have experienced endless and cruel court struggles. However, in the historical narration, the court politics of the Song Dynasty is like a clear stream, which is a model of imperial power politics in which brothers and brothers are respectful, husbands sing and women follow, fathers are kind and sons are filial, and princes are sages and ministers are wise.
Is this really the case? From the perspective of court politics, this book focuses on the key events in the court political struggle in the Song Dynasty, such as the Chenqiao mutinee, the sound of the axe and the shadow of the candle, the Chanyuan alliance, the coup d 'etat of Shaoxi, etc., to get rid of the shackle of the existing conclusions, and tries to find the clues that have not been obscured and beautified from the historical materials, restore the changes of the court political power in the Song Dynasty, and explore the truth of the court struggle in the two Song dynasties to the maximum extent.
