　　田晓菲，哈佛大学东亚系中国文学教授，《早期中古中国》（Early Medieval China）杂志主编。著有《尘几录：陶渊明与手抄本文化研究》《烽火与流星：萧梁王朝的文学与文化》《神游：早期中古时代与十九世纪的行旅写作》《赤壁之戟：建安与三国》《秋水堂论金瓶梅》《“萨福”：一个欧美文学传统的生成》《影子与水文：秋水堂自选集》等。英文译著包括《微虫世界：一部太平天国回忆录》《颜之推集》。参与撰写《剑桥中国文学史》《牛津中国现代文学手册》，参与主编并撰写《牛津中国古典文学手册（公元前1000－公元900年）》。曾担任哈佛大学东亚地域研究院主任，获哈佛大学卡波特奖、哈佛大学文理研究学院门德尔松优秀导师奖、美国学术团体协会孟旦百年中国艺术人文研究课题奖。

The "Three Kingdoms imagination" is a far-reaching construction, and even "Jian 'an" itself is a concept formed later. As early as the late third century, people already read the works of Jian 'an era with nostalgic yearning. In later romanticized narratives of The Three Kingdoms, the image of Jian 'an returns again and again, with its drinking, dining, heroism, elegance and male friendship, both as a subtext and as a clear theme. It came to represent a lost fullness that had always existed only in the imagination; It represents a time gone by, a time filled with legendary characters in whom fact and fiction are inextricably linked.

About the author

Tian Xiaofei is a professor of Chinese literature at the Department of East Asian Studies at Harvard University and editor of Early Medieval China magazine. He is the author of "Dust Records: Tao Yuanming and the Cultural Study of Manuscripts", "Beacon Fire and Shooting Stars: Literature and Culture of Xiao Liang Dynasty", "Spirit Travel: Travel Writing in the Early Middle Ages and the 19th Century", "The Red Cliff's Spear: Jian 'an and The Three Kingdoms", "Sappho", "The Generation of a European and American literary tradition", "Shadow and Hydrology: A Collection of Qiushuitang" and so on. His English translations include Microworm World: A Memoir of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and Yan Zhitui Collection. He participated in the writing of the Cambridge History of Chinese Literature, the Oxford Handbook of Modern Chinese Literature, and the editing and writing of the Oxford Handbook of Classical Chinese Literature (1000BC-900 AD). He served as the director of the East Asia Regional Institute at Harvard University, and won the Capote Award of Harvard University, the Mendelson Outstanding Mentor Award of Harvard University School of Arts and Sciences, and the Meng Dan Centennial Chinese Art and Humanities Research Project Award of the American Association of Academic Societies.
