托马斯·曼（Thomas Mann）

About the author
Thomas Mann
Born on 6 June 1875 in Lubeck, Germany, to a wealthy family. In 1929, he won the Nobel Prize for Literature for his first novel, The Buddenbrocks, which was formed in the late 19th century and the early 20th century. His other great novel, The Magic Mountain, was published in 1924. He left Nazi Germany in 1933 for political reasons. He went into exile first in Switzerland and then in the United States. While living in the United States from 1938 to 1952, he completed the tetralogy Joseph and His Brothers, and then wrote the most enduring work of his later years, Doctor Faust, which was published in 1947. In 1952, Thomas Mann returned to Switzerland, where he died in Zurich on 12 August 1955 at the age of 80.
