　　暑假到了，路小果、罗小闪和米嘟嘟受到明俏俏的邀请，去她位于湖北神农架地区老林深处的外婆家玩，到了之后才得知明俏俏跟着村里的孩子进山采药，竟然神秘失踪了。

　　为了寻找她，三个小伙伴和罗小闪的爸爸退役特种兵罗峰不畏艰险，毅然决然地进入了被当地人视为禁地的幻谷搜寻。一到幻谷，各种奇怪的事情就接踵而至，他们先是遭到传说中的史前怪兽——驴头狼的袭击，又误入了幻谷的时空隧道，不仅找不到出路，还碰上了四十多年前同样在这里迷路的一支科考队。机缘巧合之下，他们发现了时空隧道的秘密，顺利走出幻谷，并在山崖小屋里找到失踪的明俏俏。一行人回家途中又误入地下暗河，还遭遇了凶猛的山彪，千钧一发之际神秘巨猿出现，赶走了山彪，原来之前明俏俏的离奇失踪也正是这只巨猿所为。
