　　李震，1989年生，河南郑州人。2009—2018年就读于北京大学哲学系，哲学博士。现为清华大学新雅书院助理教授、仲英青年学者。近年研究领域为中国哲学史、宋明理学与易学哲学。发表论文十余篇。

A very comprehensive research work on Shao Yong, with a broad vision, solid examination and analysis, fully presents the personality and ideological characteristics of Shao Yong, one of the five sons of the Northern Song Dynasty. The book starts with Tao and things, and then goes to the king's administration, and sums up Shao Yong's academic form full of heterogeneity into his response to the fundamental problems in the Confucian tradition of scripture - reflecting profound universality in the high particularity.

Shao Yong was an important philosopher and Yi scholar in the period of establishment of Neo-Confucianism in the Northern Song Dynasty. His thought was highly original. However, compared with Zhou Dunyi, Zhang Zai and Ercheng Four sons of the Northern Song Dynasty, Shao Yong's philosophy has rarely been studied thoroughly because of its heterogeneity and complexity. Seeing Things aims to tackle this difficult subject. The book has a broad vision, solid examination and analysis, and carries on an all-round exploration of Shao Yong's life, works and philosophy. It is the latest achievement of Shao Yong's research, and also has reference significance for the related studies of Neo-Confucianism in the Song and Ming dynasties.

The author believes that the spirit of Shao Yong's philosophy lies in the principle of "seeing things". This theme internally sets out two directions: First, Shao Yong describes the order, structure and law of "things" in an unprecedented and specific way with highly formalized mathematical principles, highlighting the certainty of existence, the order of physics and the consistency of the world; Secondly, Shao Yong's thought background of combining Confucianism and Taoism gave birth to his unique "view" philosophy of mind and attitude towards life. Only through a thorough study of Shao Yong's theory of "viewing things", can we clearly realize that Shao Yong's huge and strict physical construction and free and easy personality weather not only have distinct personal characteristics, but also are inherent in the general trend of thought of The Times.

About the author

Li Zhen was born in Zhengzhou, Henan Province in 1989. From 2009 to 2018, he studied at the Department of Philosophy, Peking University. He is currently an assistant professor and Zhong Ying Young Scholar at Xinya College, Tsinghua University. In recent years, his research fields include the history of Chinese philosophy, Neo-Confucianism of Song and Ming Dynasties and the Philosophy of Yi Learning. He has published more than ten papers.
