《清流文化与唐帝国》内容简介
本书由一系列有密切关联而又独立成篇的论文组成。论文通过结合心态史、文化史和制度史等诸多取径来重新观察唐后期到五代的政治文化,以唐后期的皇权政治和清流文化为考察重点,试图为唐五代的转型提供一个新的认识框架。本书强调从唐代特殊的政治心态和文化想象的角度去理解清流文化及其代表性群体在晚唐五代社会中的垄断和自我延续的能力,去捕捉促成这些现象的种种无形的力量,并解释唐代新政治文化的两个层面如何互动并产生新的政治格局,同时也使得唐帝国的政治文化理念在影响日益显著的同时也讽刺性地削弱了唐帝国自身的存在能力。

A brief introduction to the content of Qingliu Culture and Tang Empire
The book consists of a series of closely related but independent papers. This paper reobserves the political culture from the late Tang Dynasty to the Five Dynasties by combining the history of mind, culture and system, focusing on the imperial power politics and the culture of clear flow in the late Tang Dynasty, and tries to provide a new understanding framework for the transformation of the Tang and Five Dynasties. This book emphasizes on understanding the monopoly and self-perpetuating ability of Qingliu culture and its representative groups in the society of the late Tang and five dynasties from the perspective of the special political mentality and cultural imagination of the Tang Dynasty, captures the various invisible forces contributing to these phenomena, and explains how the two levels of the new political culture of the Tang Dynasty interact and produce a new political pattern. At the same time, the influence of the political and cultural ideas of the Tang Empire became more and more significant, but also ironically weakened the existence of the Tang Empire itself.
About the author
Yang Lu is a professor at the Department of History and Center for Ancient Chinese History at Peking University and a Ph.D. student at Princeton University. His main research fields are political and cultural history of the Tang and Five Dynasties, cultural history of Chinese medieval Buddhism, and history of comparative history. Participated in the compilation of EarlyMedievalChina: ASourcebook.
