This book is a collection of Charlie Munger's speeches to WACO Financial from 1987 to 2010 and to the Daily Journal shareholders' meeting from 2014 to 2022. As the chairman of the two companies, he became the protagonist of the shareholders' meeting like Buffett, making a large opening paragraph, introducing the status quo of the two companies and Berkshire Hathaway, speaking out about his attitude toward people and things, and then answering shareholders' questions frankly and completely. In the book, Munger's speeches span 35 years, involving a large number of international or national events of the year, such as the crisis of the U.S. savings and loan industry, the bursting of the Japanese bubble, the Internet bubble, the 2008 subprime mortgage crisis, the rise of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, and the new coronavirus epidemic. The talk also includes important developments in Barmann's intellectual development and investment career, such as the influence of Graham and Fisher, interdisciplinary multi-model thinking, early failures, the Salomon incident, investing in Coca-Cola, the airline industry, and investing in China, especially BYD. Reading these speeches closely, we can use the perspective of yearbook review, more fully understand his thinking, and follow his investment and human approach.
