本书为汉代思想的学术专著。作者从死亡观念中的生命意识、解除术给身体以圣洁、作为生居与死所中介的墓葬和死后生命的变形四个环节出发，探究汉代人的生死观，对墓葬背后的汉代信仰要素进行了系统的解释和论述。承认生命另一种形式的存在并为之提供重生的途径是汉代墓葬信仰的主题及任务，墓葬仪式以生者对死者的处置方式体现了人们对死亡的看法，隐含着生者对另一个世界的想象，以及为顺利到达不朽之境所做的努力。在这个基础上，墓葬信仰整合了人们的多种愿望，在漫长的时间里发展成为一套与本土宗教、伦理、生死观密切相关的概念系统，成为汉代思想的一部分。墓葬有其自身独特的艺术语言和逻辑，是古代民众对生命的述说，也是我们解读中国思想史、文化史，探讨历史的一个渠道。

Content introduction
This book is an academic monograph of Han Dynasty thought. Starting from the four aspects of life consciousness in the concept of death, sanctification of the body by removing art, burial as the intermediary between life and death, and the transformation of life after death, the author probes into the Han people's view of life and death, and systematically explains and discusses the elements of belief behind burial in Han Dynasty. Acknowledging the existence of another form of life and providing a way for it to be reborn was the theme and task of the Han Dynasty's tomb belief. The burial ceremony reflected people's view of death in the way the living treated the dead, implied the living's imagination of the other world, and made efforts to successfully reach the immortal realm. On this basis, the burial belief integrated people's various aspirations and developed into a conceptual system closely related to local religion, ethics, and the concept of life and death, which became a part of Han Dynasty thought. Burial has its own unique artistic language and logic, which is the ancient people's narration of life, and also a channel for us to interpret the history of Chinese ideology and culture and explore history.

Li Hong, Ph.D., Institute of Religion and Social Issues, Shandong University, is now a lecturer at the School of Art, Taiyuan University of Technology, specializing in Chinese and foreign art history and Chinese arts and crafts.
